Scott Sinclair joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in 2016.
Back in March, The Scottish Sun reported that Sinclair – who earns £25,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star – wanted to leave Celtic in the summer transfer window.
It was reported that the former Chelsea and Swansea City winger wanted to move back to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old winger, though, is still at Celtic, and the Englishman has said that he did not plan to leave the Glasgow giants in the summer transfer window.
Sinclair’s comments all suggest that he is not planning to leave the Hoops anytime soon.
“No, it was never in my mind that I wanted to leave the club,” Sinclair told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“I love it here. I love the fans, I love the club and when I scored on Saturday you could see the emotion. It is pure joy.”
Regaining form
Sinclair scored the winner for Celtic at the weekend, but the winger still needs to step up and recover his old form.
The former Manchester City winger – who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Aston Villa for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £3 million – is not guaranteed a place in Brendan Rodgers’s starting lineup at the moment, but there is no doubt that he will be an important player for the Hoops as the season progresses.
