Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has told The Glasgow Evening Times that his teammate James Forrest was outstanding against Bayern Munich.

Forrest featured for Celtic in their Champions League match against German and European giants Bayern at Celtic Park on Tuesday evening.

The 26-year-old winger was superb against the Bundesliga outfit and had one of his best games so far this season.

Although Celtic lost the match 2-1, the performance of the Scotland international cannot be faulted.

Celtic winger Sinclair has praised the 26-year-old, and has said that he was exceptional against Bayern.

The 28-year-old Englishman, who has been on the books of the Glasgow giants since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Aston Villa for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £3 million, has also spoken of the hard work Forrest does in training.

“I thought James was outstanding but it is no surprise to me,” Sinclair told The Glasgow Evening Times. “We see the work he puts in every day and know just how good a player he is. I thought he was exceptional, but as a team I thought we played very well.

“There was a lot of disappointment when Patrick got injured at the weekend but you see what James has got. It is brilliant for the club to have that competition.”

Celtic will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on St. Johnstone away from home in the Scottish Premiership.
