Scott Sinclair has told the Scottish Sun that he has been shocked by how well his move to Celtic has gone.

Sinclair swept up at the Celtic player of the season awards, after enjoying a wonderful first term with the Glasgow club.

The rapid wide-man’s career had stalled at both Manchester City and Aston Villa, prior to his move north of the border.

And Sinclair admits that his switch to Celtic has gone better than he was expecting.

“Coming to Celtic I didn’t expect too much,” he said. “I just wanted to be happy, and to be playing every week which I have done.

“I wanted to be under a manager who gives me that belief, who could get my career back on track. To be honest, it has worked out far better than I expected.

“The gaffer said it was a case of getting me here to understand Celtic, and that’s definitely been the case. It has been a joy. I’m so happy to be playing for Celtic, and have a great group of fans right behind me.

“I’m playing with a great team and just enjoying football again.”

Sinclair has scored 25 goals across the campaign for Celtic, and he has also claimed 11 assists.

The attacker’s form is a major reason behind why Celtic have been so successful this season.

The Bhoys have managed to go the whole campaign without losing a domestic match.

Celtic secured the treble by beating Aberdeen 2-1 in the Scottish Cup final last weekend.
