Southampton and West Bromwich Albion are interested in Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong, but Scott Sinclair has offered his teammate a piece of advice.
Scott Sinclair has suggested to Celtic teammate Stuart Armstrong that while every player’s experience is different, moving to the Premier League does not necessarily turn out to be a good move as the Hoops star continues to be linked with the likes of Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, the Evening Times reports.
Armstrong enjoyed a sensational season with the Hoops last term, scoring 15 times in just 31 Scottish Premiership games to help Brendan Rodgers’ men win the domestic treble in emphatic fashion.

Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, the Scotland international has come onto the radar of a number of teams in England, with the Evening Times suggesting that the Saints, West Brom and Stoke City are all keen.
But Sinclair – who struggled to make an impact during his four most recent seasons in England – has suggested that Armstrong needs to consider whether he would actually be making a step up if he ends up leaving Parkhead.
“Players will always have a choice,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“My experience will be different to that of other players. Stuart will have a decision to make at some point so we’ll see what he does. In my experience the grass is not always greener, but that is just when it comes to me. Everyone is different.”
At Celtic, Armstrong is not only a first-team regular, but also became something of a talisman during the previous season. And it is with the Hoops that he gets to enjoy regular attempts at reaching the Champions League.
While he may be forgiven for considering his options at some stage if he feels he has achieved everything he can with Celtic, he would surely be making a mistake swapping being a key man for the Hoops for a peripheral role in the English top flight – as Sinclair would surely vouch for.
