Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has told The Express that he believes Brendan Rodgers’ new contract will help the club attract new signings – especially from clubs in England.

The Bhoys beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon to keep up their unbeaten league record this season, taking their points tally to 90 points.

With just six points dropped this season, Celtic have enjoyed a remarkable season under manager Rodgers, who replaced Ronny Deila at the end of last season.

After initially penning a rolling one-year deal in 2016, Rodgers committed his future to Celtic on Friday by penning a new four-year contract to tie himself to the Bhoys until 2021.

Rodgers’ new contract has come as a major boost to the Celtic squad, and should help keep some key players – such as Kieran Tierney and Stuart Armstrong – out of the clutches of Premier League clubs this summer.

In fact, one Celtic player has predicted that Rodgers’ new deal could actually help the Bhoys lure players from the Premier League to Glasgow, such is his influence and reputation.

Winger Scott Sinclair, who left Aston Villa to join Celtic last summer having worked with Rodgers at both Chelsea and Swansea, has told The Express that he thinks players from England will be tempted by a move to Celtic because they’ll be able to work with Rodgers.

Sinclair added that many Celtic players haven’t been talked about before, but have now been given a lift by Rodgers – and those Bhoys stars are now enjoyed being recognised for their performances.

“It’s great that the manager has secured his future. It puts stability into the club,” said Sinclair. “He has already achieved massive things in what he has been doing. I think it will attract a lot of other players – especially coming from down south and looking up here. You can see the way we play, the style we play and how we win games. I think it will be great for other players when they look at us.”

“The manager’s announcement is great for the whole squad. Some of the players haven’t really been talked about before, but everyone has raised their game. Now we are all being talked about, with people recognising how good we are as a team and the style in which we are winning,” he added.
