Scott Sinclair was linked with a move away from Celtic earlier in the year, but he has insisted that he had no intention of leaving Parkhead.

Sinclair has proved to be a fantastic signing for the Hoops. He arguably vindicated his £3.5 million fee (via The Scottish Sun) within his first season in the Scottish Premiership, and bagged a remarkable amount of goals in his second campaign considering that he was perhaps not quite as impressive.
He found out it more difficult to break into Brendan Rodgers’ squad this term however. Sinclair has made just six league starts, but he is very much back in the fold having started every game since an inspired substitute appearance in the League Cup semi-final.
And despite The Scottish Sun reporting earlier this year that Sinclair wanted to leave Celtic, the forward has insisted that he has never been looking for a way out of the club.

“That never entered my head, I love being here,” he said, as reported by STV when asked about wanting to leave. “It was the best season ever for me when I first arrived and the second season was just as good.
“Just because I went through a sticky patch, I’m not all of a sudden wanting to leave because I didn’t play in a couple of games. I’m back in the team and looking forward to another final on Sunday.”

The spell out of the starting lineup appears to have benefited Sinclair as he has been really impressive in recent weeks and is looking much more like the player that stole the show during his first season.
And it unquestionably says a lot about the quality within Celtic’s squad that Rodgers has the ability to leave a player of Sinclair’s calibre out of the picture for a little while.
