Scott Sinclair has enjoyed a sensational first season at Celtic, helping the Hoops secure the Scottish Premiership title.
Celtic’s Scott Sinclair
Scott Sinclair has handed Celtic a major transfer boost ahead of the summer by insisting that he would not consider leaving Parkhead if a club from a higher-profile league came calling, the Evening Times reports.
Sinclair has been a revelation since arriving from Aston Villa for £3.5 million last summer, and currently tops the Scottish Premiership goalscoring charts, having bagged 21 goals already.
Unsurprisingly, the winger picked up the Player of the Year award for the entire division after inspiring the Hoops’ title win. And while his form may leave the Bhoys supporters worried about whether teams down south have been alerted and are considering giving him another chance to thrive, Sinclair has completely alleviated those concerns with an emphatic response.
“Not at all. I’ve found my happiness and I’m enjoying every minute at Celtic and I couldn’t think of a reason to leave,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times, when asked whether he would consider leaving.
Scott Sinclair has enjoyed a great first year at Celtic
“I haven’t even looked at that. All I’m looking at is enjoying every single moment, building on it next season, improving my game and coming back stronger.”
Not only would keeping Sinclair provide a major lift to Celtic’s plans for next season due to his own performances, but it arguably also sends out a great message to the players linked with moves away and the club’s potential targets.
In previous years, Celtic have struggled to keep hold of some of their better players when the Premier League, and even Championship clubs have come calling, but Sinclair staying put suggests that those days may largely be behind them, and the club is ready to keep building.
