Celtic’s Scott Sinclair was serenaded by the Hoops fans this past weekend.
Scott Sinclair has told The Glasgow Evening Times that it was great to hear Celtic fans sing his name once again.
The former England international was the hero on Saturday as Sinclair struck the winner in the 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.
It was Sinclair’s first goal in six Celtic games this season and the Parkhead faithful reminded the 29-year-old of what he meant to them.
Poor form has been a regular feature of the former Aston Villa attacker’s season so far, but the Hoops favourite, who won the Premiership Player of the Year in his first season, claims that his goal at the weekend has reinvigorated him.
“To hear my name sung again by the support was brilliant. I have missed that. But it is up to me to keep delivering,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“It was a great feeling and now I am hungry and ready to go again.”
If Sinclair really is back to his best, he’ll show it on Thursday.
Celtic have a big Europa League clash away to Red Bull Salzburg and with Odsonne Edouard potentially ruled out, all eyes will be on the likes of Sinclair to provide the goods.
He hasn’t been doing that much lately, prior to his goal against the Dons, but Thursday will be the ideal platform for him to prove that he’s back to his best.
