Scott Sinclair isn’t planning on leaving Celtic this summer.

Scott Sinclair has confirmed to a press conference on Celtic’s YouTube channel that he intends on staying at Parkhead beyond this summer.
The 30-year-old hasn’t been a steady fixture in Neil Lennon’s first XI since the Northern Irishman returned to Celtic as Brendan Rodgers’s short-term replacement in February.
The Scottish Sun reported earlier this month that although the Hoops activated a 12-month extension on Sinclair’s existing deal, contracting him until 2020, he could still leave.
But Sinclair, speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup final with Hearts, rubbished suggestions that he could leave and said that he’s committed to the club.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to stay. I think everyone knows my situation and how I love this club and want to be here.
I love the fans and playing for Celtic. Games like this (Scottish Cup final) and playing in cup finals – there’s nothing better. Obviously I was delighted. Obviously, I’m here for another year and I’m looking forward to it.”
This is definitely good news.
Sinclair, who joined Celtic under Rodgers in 2016 for £3.5 million [BBC Sport], has been a stunning servant for the club these past three years, winning eight major domestic trophies.
If the Bhoys beat Hearts at Hampden, they’ll win the Treble Treble and Sinclair will have played as big a role in that historic success as anyone else in green & white.
