Celtic star Scott Sinclair has told the club’s official website it is a great achievement for him to equal Jimmy McGorry’s record for the club.

The forward has proved to be a superb addition for the Scottish champions this season since arriving from Championship side Aston Villa.

He bagged his side’s second goal of the game in the 2-2 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday.

It means he has now scored in his first five league games for the club and in doing so equalled the record set by Jimmy McGorry 80 years ago.

And he has admitted it is a great achievement for him, although it would have been better had they won the game.

“I wasn’t aware of that and it’s something new,” he told the club’s official website.

“I go into every game looking to create and score goals and it’s a great achievement but at the same time it would have been better to have won the game.”

Celtic will now be hoping that Scott Sinclair can continue this fine form for the remainder of the season.

He has added another dimension to their attack this season and has quickly established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ team.

This record demonstrates that and they will be keen to be keen to see him continue adding to his goal tally as they look to make it six titles in a row.
