According to the Express, West Ham are interested in signing Alphonse Areola from Paris Saint-Germain, after his excellent displays for Fulham.
The 3-cap France international joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan deal back in September, and is rated at £15 million by PSG.
Interestingly, Fulham also have an option to make the deal permanent.
That would usually mean West Ham face an uphill battle to sign the £75,000-a-week man.
However, the Express claim that Areola will wait and see what division Fulham are in before making a decision on his future.
With the Cottagers seven points from safety after 33 games, there’s a good chance they go down, which boosts West Ham’s hopes of signing Areola.

One man who left his mark in east London is Scott Parker, who currently manages Fulham.
Parker won three consecutive Hammer of the Year awards, and also the FWA Player of the Year award despite West Ham finishing 20th in 2011.
As quoted by Football London, the 40-year-old called Areola an ‘exceptional’ goalkeeper back in November, after declaring him as his No.1 glovesman.

Seeing as Łukasz Fabiański is now 36, a new shot-stopper should definitely be on West Ham’s shopping list.
Areola has Champions League experience with Real Madrid and PSG, and would be a fine signing for the Irons.
