Tottenham Hotspur beat Preston North End 5-0 in the FA Youth Cup this afternoon.
Tottenham Hotspur are through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup after hammering Preston North End 5-0 at Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Spurs’ first team thrashed Stoke City 5-1 at Wembley Stadium over the weekend, and their youth side turned in a similarly dominant display in today’s Third Round tie in the FA Youth Cup.
After a bright start from Preston, Spurs took over as Paris Maghoma and Rodel Richards scored before half time to give Tottenham a 2-0 lead at the break.

Spurs continued to dominate in the second period as Phoenix Patterson added a third, before Richards scored twice to complete his hat-trick and seal a 5-0 win.
Tottenham will be delighted to have coasted through to the next round, and striker Richards has grabbed the headlines with his second hat-trick in 10 days as his stunning form continues.
After the game, Spurs Under-18 coach Scott Parker noted to the club’s official website that Richards won’t want Christmas to come as it may halt his form, but Parker hailed him and his team for their performance.
“RJ (Rodel Richards) probably doesn’t want Christmas to come to be fair!” said Parker. “He’s in such a good vein of form but it’s a little break in terms of games now, although I think all of the boys have been a credit really,” he added.
Richards, 17, was once on the books with Arsenal before heading to Spurs, forging a similar path to Harry Kane – and Tottenham fans haven’t missed that similarity.
Fans took to Twitter during and after today’s game in order to suggest that Richards could be another Kane, in terms of smashing in the goals for Spurs after leaving Arsenal, with others simply saying to remember his name as the teenager’s stock continues to rise.
