Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton is set to make a number of changes to his side this summer.
Former Glasgow Rangers player Scott Nisbet has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Mark Warburton must keep Kenny Miller, Lee Wallace, Andy Halliday and David Weir at Ibrox this summer.
Miller, Wallace and Halliday are all part of Rangers’ current playing squad, while Weir is Warburton’s number two in command.
Rangers are set to ring the changes this summer, as Warburton builds a squad capable of competing in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers have already made four additions, and more are set to follow in the coming weeks.
However, Nisbet insists that Rangers should not make too many changes – as he needs to keep the bulk of his squad at Ibrox.
“Kenny Miller knows what Rangers is about, Lee Wallace knows what Rangers is about, Andy Halliday knows what Rangers is about and Davie Weir knows what Rangers is about,” Nisbet said.
“It is massive to keep that connection at Rangers. You can bring in players, but you need to keep that Scottish identity.”
Rangers are not expected to sell Miller, Wallace or Halliday, as Warburton looks to add to his squad.
Rangers need to add strength in depth to their team, if they are to challenge at the top end of the Scottish Premiership title.
Rangers have already brought in Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Matt Crooks and Josh Windass this summer. Clint Hill and Niko Kranjcar are also set to arrive in the near future.
