Motherwell will face Celtic in Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final.

Ahead of the match, Dundee United player Scott McDonald said that Motherwell are the only team in Scotland that can beat Celtic because of the threat they possess.

Celtic extended their unbeaten run in domestic competitions to 64 games last week, and at the moment it looks like they are invincible.

The Bhoys manager Brendan Rodgers guided his side to domestic treble last season, and he would be looking to add his first silverware of the season on Sunday.

According to McDonald, Celtic have not defended crosses well in the Champions League, and Motherwell should be looking to try and exploit that.

The 34-year-old former Celtic player adds that he expects Motherwell to cause all sorts of problems, and predicts both teams to score.

He adds that if Celtic take an early lead, it could get difficult for Motherwell to come back strongly in the game.

“Celtic haven’t defended crosses well in the Champions League. Motherwell will look at that and try to expose them,” said McDonald, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“So I expect Motherwell to cause Celtic problems and I see both teams scoring.

“It’s just whether they have enough to keep Celtic at bay. And I can’t see it. If the Hoops go ahead early on that big pitch it could be a hard day for Well.”
