Celtic were demolished by Paris Saint-Germain….again.

Celtic Captain Scott Brown receives applause from the Celtic fans as he walks from the pitch after being substituted late in the second half during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match...

Scott McDonald has said on BBC Sportsround that he was particularly disappointed by Scott Brown’s performance in Celtic’s 7-1 Champions League demolition by Paris Saint-Germain.

Celtic took a shock lead inside the first minute through Moussa Dembele, but Unai Emery’s side, who won 5-0 in Glasgow earlier in the competition, were level eight minutes later through Neymar.

The Hoops skipper was the one who conceded possession in the build-up to the goal, sloppily misplacing a pass under no pressure.

Brown was guilty of further sloppy errors throughout and McDonald has singled out his former Celtic team-mate for a bit of criticism.

“Neymar is dominating the game and certainly living up to his price tag. He’s dropping deeper, playing these lovely 30-40-yard balls over the top for strikers,” he told BBC Sportsround.

“I’m disappointed for Celtic – Scott Brown especially, it’s not like him, but he’s given the ball away on numerous occasions, very sloppy, and he’s been punished.

Brendan Rodgers’s side trailed 4-1 at the break as another from Neymar and further efforts from Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe effectively ended the game as a contest within 45 minutes.

They looked on course for a respectable defeat, under the circumstances, as Celtic kept it at 4-1 until the final 15 minutes, but a late rally consisting of goals from Marco Verratti, another from Cavani and Dani Alves completed the mauling.
