The Brentford striker is attracting plenty of attention, but West Brom can perhaps feel confident that they should now be leading the race.
West Bromwich Albion’s hopes of beating Reading and Norwich City in the race to sign Brentford striker Scott Hogan appear to have received a boost after the player spoke to Get West London about his future.
The 24-year-old is attracting attention from the trio of sides heading into the January transfer window, according to Get West London, after a sensational start to the season which has seen him score 13 times in 22 Championship games.

But, seemingly unaware of the rumours linking him with a switch to the Hawthorns, Hogan has given a hint about what his next move may entail by insisting that staying in the second tier is not something he is planning on doing for much longer.
“I don’t want to be in the Championship long – I want to play in the Premier League,” he told Get West London.

“I think the teams I’ve been linked with are Championship teams. I don’t want to play Championship football all my career.
“I’ve seen those teams. Who knows what’s going to happen? It’s not up to me – it’s up to Brentford. I wouldn’t leave for a Championship club unless Brentford do it. That’s not my problem.”
Tony Pulis will surely be delighted with the striker’s comments as they seemingly put the Baggies at the front of the queue for his signature while also showing a tremendous amount of ambition.

And while West Brom are flying high in the Premier League table, there is no question that they need additional depth up front.
Salomon Rondon has been brilliant this term, but he is the only out and out striker that has scored for the club in the league, so while they have players who can come in to replace him if he does become injured, they will do very well to provide the goals that he has scored.
And what would surely elevate Hogan straight behind the Venezuelan in the pecking order, and above the likes of Saido Berahino and Hal Robson-Kanu, is the fact that he would arrive already in excellent form.
