Villa are yet to appoint a replacement to Steve Bruce after sacking him earlier this month.

Scott Hogan has been quoted by Sky Sports as saying that he would welcome the appointment of either Thierry Henry or John Terry at Aston Villa, as the club continue to look for Steve Bruce’s replacement.
Bruce was sacked after a 3-3 draw against Preston North End, which saw Glenn Whelan miss a penalty in the dying moments at Villa Park. Villa have since lost 2-1 to Millwall on Saturday.
With the international break in full flow, Villa are expected to make an announcement before they face Swansea City at Villa Park in 10 days time and both Henry and Terry are the frontrunners.
Recent reports have suggested Henry could be joining former club Monaco, while Terry has gone from being the Frenchman’s assistant to a full-time manager in the reckoning. Hogan would be happy with either, or both.
“To maybe have the chance to work with Thierry Henry, who is probably the greatest Premier League striker, and obviously JT played with us last year – probably the best Premier League defender,” Hogan said.
“Nothing’s been appointed or confirmed yet but a club like Aston Villa, the size of it, these names are going to be linked to us. Whoever comes in will be looking forward to picking up the season basically and trying to finish as high as we can.”

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, Brentford boss Dean Smith, former Manchester United assistant Rui Faria and Bournemouth man Eddie Howe have all been linked – while Stiliyan Petrov and Dwight Yorke have applied for the role.
With fans finally getting their wish for Bruce’s sacking, there will now be huge pressure on the new manager to hit the ground running and get the club’s campaign back on track with pre-season expectations of a promotion push.
Hogan, 26, is yet to make an appearance for Villa this season after finally overcoming injury to sit on the bench for the last two matches. He is in the Ireland squad to face Denmark and Wales in the UEFA Nations League.
