Well, the deal is done – Scott Brown is leaving Celtic.
The 35-year-old is out of contract this summer, and he has now decided that the time is right for a move away.
Rumours in recent weeks have suggested that Aberdeen have been positioning themselves to land Brown in an interesting move.
Brown’s former Hibernian teammate Stephen Glass has become Aberdeen’s new manager, and a reunion has been touted for some time now.
In the last hour, Aberdeen have confirmed a deal for Brown, signing him to a two-year deal on a pre-contract agreement.
The deal means Brown will see out his playing days at Pittodrie whilst also being a key part of Glass’s coaching staff with the Dons.

This move brings an end to Brown’s 14-year association with Celtic, and he leaves as a Bhoys legend following 10 league title wins alongside 12 domestic cup wins.
Speaking on Aberdeen’s official website, Brown has admitted that his decision wasn’t easy, but he just couldn’t pass up the chance to re-join Glass.
Brown claims he will be ‘relentless’ in his efforts to bring success to Aberdeen, and is ‘totally committed’ to the challenge at Pittodrie.
“There is no doubt I had a lot to deliberate when deciding my next steps, particularly after enjoying fourteen successful years at Celtic,” said Brown. “However, the opportunity to join Aberdeen, a Club entering an exciting new period with my former team-mate Stephen now at the helm, was one I couldn’t pass up.”
“Once this season concludes, I’m looking forward to joining Stephen, the playing and coaching staff and everyone at Aberdeen FC. I am totally committed to the challenge that lies ahead in meeting the ambitions of the Club and its fans.”
“I still feel I have got a lot to give, not only on the pitch, but in a broader capacity as I embark on my coaching journey. I will be relentless in my quest for success for Aberdeen,” he added.
