Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers will be aiming to challenge Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Rangers have finished third in the Scottish Premiership table in each of the past two seasons, while Celtic have won the championship title in Scotland for the past seven years.
The Ibrox club have a new manager in Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and have also signed a number of players in the summer transfer window.
Among the players Rangers have recruited so far this summer are Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Jon Flanagan.
Brown – who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million – has suggested that Rangers will challenge for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Brown told The Scottish Sun: “There will be a lot of challenges this season. Aberdeen will be up there, Hibs will be there, Rangers will be there, and Hearts have brought in a lot of players too.
“We’ll see what happens, and we need to deal with the challenge, starting with the first game against Livingston. Will Rangers be stronger? We will see what happens, we play them very early on.”

Challenging Celtic
Celtic have the best squad in Scotland, and it is hard to see Brendan Rodgers’s side not win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
However, with Liverpool legend Gerrard in charge of Rangers, the Ibrox faithful should be optimistic about at least giving Celtic a run for their money.
