Scott Brown made his feelings about Brendan Rodgers clear by stating that he was a ‘fantastic’ manager for Celtic and that they were ‘struggling’ prior to his appointment in 2016.

Leicester City confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that Rodgers has made the switch from the Scottish Premiership to the Premier League.- his decision to leave in such an abrupt manner hasn’t sat well with the supporters

Brown claims that at the time of the Northern Irishman taking over the Scottish giants nearly three years ago, they were ‘struggling’ as he praised him for bringing a different ‘vibe’ and ‘passion’ to Glasgow during that period.

Nonetheless, speaking after Celtic’s 2-1 win at Hearts, Brown told Sky Sports Football (27/02/2019 at 09:55 pm) that he was ‘sad’ to see such a great figure leave the club.

“There’s been ups and downs [in these last 48 hours],” Brown told Sky Sports Football. “It’s sad to see a fantastic manager go. About two and a half years ago this club was struggling. He [Rodgers] came in and he’s been fantastic.

“He’s brought a different vibe, a different passion and way to play football. Yet again it shows on the park. Lennie is going to take that over. He’s a fantastic manager also. He’s been here [before], he’s done it all. He’s won leagues and he knows what it takes to win cups.”

During his time up north, Rodgers won every domestic trophy possible, including the double-treble as he was on course to win the treble-treble before he made the decision to leave early.

Nonetheless, Neil Lennon was the man tasked to replace Rodgers in the dugout until the end of the season and he witnessed his side record a late win at Hearts on Wednesday night.

Odsonne Edouard scored in stoppage-time from close range to ensure the Bhoys maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers also won on the same night, they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at home to Dundee, with the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe getting on the scoresheet.

Celtic's new interim manager Neil Lennon is unveiled with his assistant John Kennedy at Celtic Park on February 27, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.
