Motherwell star David Turnbull was expected to join Scottish Premiership champions Celtic for £3m.

Scott Brown has urged David Turnbull to seize the chance to join him at Celtic this summer, speaking to the Daily Record.
The Scottish Premiership champions were expected to sign the SPFA Young Player of the Year after Motherwell accepted a £3 million bid on Friday.
But a deal is now hanging by a thread after Celtic failed to agree personal terms. Turnbull now appears to have a range of offers from south of the border too, with Sheffield Wednesday one of those apparently aiming to swoop in and nab the teenager from under Neil Lennon’s nose.
Celtic captain Brown has not given up hope of playing alongside arguably the most exciting teenager in Scottish football right now, however.

“He’s a fantastic young player, this will be a great club if he wants to come here and he’ll be welcomed by every single person in that changing room,” Brown said to the Daily Record.
“I had that hunger to come here to win trophies, there’s a reason I didn’t go down the road.”
Turnbull scored 16 goals while providing a further seven assists for Motherwell last season, a remarkable record for a player so young.
He could perhaps fill the void left by Stuart Armstrong’s 2018 move to Southampton, providing firepower from the centre of the park in a Celtic side who struggled for creativity and end product at times during a mixed 2018/19 campaign.
