Celtic captain Scott Brown has told the Daily Mail that Kieran Tierney has been fantastic since breaking into the team.

The full-back broke in the Hoops line-up under Ronny Deila last season, supplanting former first-choice left-back Emilio Izaguirre in the team.

He has since established himself as one of the key men in the team, continuing to flourish under new manager Brendan Rodgers this season.

Indeed, his displays have not gone unnoticed, with the Scottish Sun claiming that Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester City are both keen on taking him south of the border.

Brown has certainly been impressed and says the fact he is in ahead of Izaguirre shows just how impressive he has been.

“He’s been fantastic since he came into the team. I saw him come through the Under-20s and the 19s and he was exceptional coming through those levels,” he told the Daily Mail.

“He’s taken his chance. Emilio Izaguirre has been fantastic for us for a number of seasons but for Kieran to get in ahead of him shows how well Kieran must be doing.”

Tierney has certainly established himself as a key player over the last year and will be keen to remain as such moving forward.

His improvement under Brendan Rodgers has been noticeable and he already stands as the club’s highest assist-maker with three to his name in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Indeed, if he continues in such a rich vein of form then the Hoops will do well to keep hold of their star man should the big teams keep track of him.
