Scott Brown is ready to hand Celtic a boost by agreeing a new contract with the Scottish Premiership champions.

Brown’s current contract with the Bhoys expires at the end of the season. The 33-year-old may be reaching the twilight of his career, but he continues to prove to be a massive part of Brendan Rodgers’ side.
And ahead of their clash with St Mirren on Friday night, Brown suggested that he will soon be able to announce that he has extended his stay with Celtic having already entered discussions with the Hoops hierarchy.
“They know I’m going to sign. There is no issues whatsoever,” he told STV. “It’s just a matter of time for us to get it done. We first started talking just before the international break.

“It will be done in next couple of weeks hopefully. I still feel I’ve got a good few years left in me. That will be part of the discussion. I think two or three years easily.”
Brown agreeing fresh terms will be a huge boost for Celtic. There are plenty of extremely talented midfielders in Scotland’s top flight, but few have managed to get the better of Brown during his Hoops career, and it is difficult to think of any who have managed to come out on top against the Bhoys skipper on more than one occasion.
Brown has won 16 major trophies during his time with Celtic. It would hardly be a surprise if he added to that tally this season, and it now appears that he is going to get the chance to lift even more silverware for the Hoops further down the line.
