The new Celtic boss wants his players to be close on and off the field.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Scott Brown says Brendan Rodgers is determined to make Celtic’s squad closer off the field.
The former Liverpool manager took charge at the club last month after Ronny Deila departed at the end of last season.
His arrival has been met with huge optimism at the club, with many believing that the Scottish champions have pulled off a major coup in securing his signature.
Work is already underway at the club, with pre-season training having started in earnest at the Bhoys. While the majority of the work there will naturally be on the pitch, Brown says that Rodgers wants them to be closer off it as well.
“We’re going to be a lot closer on and off the field, so there’s going to be good times ahead,” he told celticfc.net.
“It’s just a positive vibe throughout the whole club – the fans, everyone at Celtic Park and at Lennoxtown.”
While attention is on the work that Rodgers can do with the squad he inherited from Deila, his main focus will be on adding to that group in the transfer window.
The club is keen to return to the Champions League after a two-year absence, and appear keen to back Rodgers to ensure that happens.
With the manager apparently determined to create a close knit atmosphere, perhaps that will have some bearing on the type of players that he targets this summer.
