Ibrox plays host as Celtic and Glasgow Rangers square off tomorrow.
Celtic captain Scott Brown has told Sky Sports that Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos has done “quite well” since arriving in Scotland.
The 21-year-old Colombian marksman is set to get his first taste of an Old Firm derby as Celtic visit Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers go into the clash as underdogs but you get the feeling that if Pedro Caixinha’s side do record a decent result, Morelos will play a big part in it.
The former HJK Helsinki striker, a £1 million signing by Caixinha in the summer, has netted eight goals in his first 10 games for the Scottish giants.
Considering it’s his first few months in a new country, the consensus is that the young forward has been a revelation for the Ibrox club so far, but the Celtic midfielder hasn’t gone overboard in his praise for Morelos.
“He’s come into the game in Scotland probably not knowing too much about it and he’s done quite well,” Brown told Sky Sports.
“He likes a nice early shot and he’s scored a few goals early doors for them.
“He’s a big, tall, young boy and I’m sure he’ll be looking forward to the chance against us as well.”
Brown’s team-mate, Leigh Griffiths, was far more complimentary toward the Rangers man, calling the youngster a “handful” and noting that Celtic’s defence will need to be on “top form” in order to keep him from enhancing his reputation tomorrow.
But the Hoops midfielder has somewhat understated his impact in Scottish football and, whether it was intentional or not, Morelos will be out to prove that he has been the sensation which a lot of others believe him to be thus far.
