Fire emojis were rife on Twitter last night as Celtic’s James Forrest lit up Hampden Park.

Paul Scholes #18 of Manchester United blocks the shot of James Forrest #49 of Celtic F.C. during a friendly match at the Rogers Centre July 16, 2010 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Celtic winger James Forrest is certainly a man bang in form.

Forrest scored a hat-trick for Scotland on Tuesday as Alex McLeish’s side beat Israel 3-2.

The Celtic star now has five goals in his last two internationals, after also bagging a brace in the 4-0 demolition away to Albania last week.

And here’s how Hoops team-mate Scott Brown and Sheffield Wednesday playmaker Barry Bannan reacted to his heroics.

You wonder whether Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will want him receiving this much attention.

Rodgers wouldn’t begrudge any of his players a bit of limelight, but limelight can bring about other clubs trying to sign his best performers.

It seems only a matter of time before speculation about a move to the Premier League is on the cards.

He was close to reaching that point before his five-goal haul during the international break, but his heroics over the past five days will certainly make English clubs sit up and take interest.

Doing it in the Scottish Premiership every week is one thing, but inspiring your country to two competitive victories is another thing entirely and maybe, just maybe, Celtic will receive enquiries in January.
