Celtic hold a six-point lead over Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and what a job Ange Postecoglou has done since joining the previously struggling ship over at Parkhead.
On Sunday, Celtic overturned Aaron Ramsey’s early opener to secure three points at Ibrox and a certain Scott Brown was loving what he was seeing.
Perhaps the biggest wind-up merchant in the rich history of the Old Firm derby, the Bhoys legend sent this message on his Instagram story after today’s win.
“Thanks lads,” said Brown. “Enjoyed that one I did.”
Last season, those trips to Dubai and the capitulation from the whole team when they had the record-breaking ten in their grasp was one that didn’t go down well with the Celtic faithful.
Some even questioned when Celtic opted to look towards the previously unknown Postecoglou for the man to pick them up from the canvas and lead them forward.
But any doubts people had have now disappeared because Celtic are marching back towards winning another Premiership title.
Whilst it won’t be ten-in-row, it would be ten out of 11, which is some going for this ever-growing Celtic side.
Brown himself was a part of many of those glory days, and whilst big Ange will be clear they still haven’t got over the line, they should get the job from here after goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers.
What will be even sweeter for those in Celtic colours is if they can see off Rangers ahead of their meeting later on this month in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
That’s what the Gers can only look forward to because if they are to reclaim their crown, then they will need their rivals to capitulate and it’s unlikely that will happen now.
The post-Steven Gerrard era hasn’t started in the manner in which they would have liked, that’s for sure and it will be interesting how Giovanni van Bronckhorst is going to be viewed from here.
