The legendary Celtic midfielder remains a big fan of the maligned manager.

Scott Brown has told The Record that Brendan Rodgers was ‘unbelievable’ for his Celtic career.
Rodgers sensationally quit Celtic this week to become the new Leicester City manager.
Neil Lennon was named as his successor on Wednesday and the Hoops got off to a winning start under the club legend, nicking a last-gasp 2-1 win at Hearts last night.
Some Celtic fans unfurled an anti-Rodgers banner which read: “You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt, always a fraud”.
It echoes the views of many disappointed Bhoys supporters, but Brown has nothing but gratitude toward the Northern Irishman.
The 33-year-old midfielder had been criticised and written off as ‘finished’ prior to Rodgers’s arrival, but he captained the club to seven domestic trophies and won a number of end-of-season individual awards last term.
Brown told The Record: “I spoke to Brendan. I wished him all the best. He’s been unbelievable for me. I was written off this season, the season before, the season before, the season before.
“I just keep coming back. For me, he was unbelievable. He realised that I still had a couple of years left in my legs and he put a lot of faith in me and a lot of trust.”
Rodgers did indeed have a major effect on Brown’s longevity and it’s nice to see him acknowledge that.
It’ll be interesting to see if Brown – who signed a two-year contract extension recently – can maintain his good form under Lennon.
