Scott Brown believes it is a ‘delight to watch’ Callum McGregor pulling the strings for Celtic this season. The midfielder has been instrumental for boss Ange Postecoglou at Parkhead.
The Hoops captain has had a vital role in the Bhoys’ quest to win back-to-back Premiership titles. Postecoglou has started McGregor in all 21 of his Scottish top-flight games so far this term. Only a serious knee injury kept him from seven fixtures before the World Cup break.
So important is McGregor to Celtic’s efforts that Postecoglou has also kept the 29-year-old on the field for the full 90 minutes in 19 games. He also played from start to finish in two of his three matches in each of the Champions League, SFA Cup and League Cup this season.

Callum McGregor is enjoying an instrumental season at Celtic
McGregor even made a goalscoring return from his injury at Aberdeen on December 17 for a 1-0 win in the Premiership. It was his second goal this season before penning a first assist against St Johnstone on Christmas Eve. Aberdeen then felt his force again on February 18.
The midfielder bagged a goal and an assist as the Hoops beat the Dons 4-0 at Parkhead. He had only scored one goal this term before the injury against Ross County in the League Cup in August. But the 49-cap Scotland star has been vital for Postecoglou to set the tone.

What has Scott Brown said about the Hoops skipper?
McGregor has almost always sought to find space when Celtic are in possession to pull the strings and impress Brown. He is continually trying to move play around the park and also offers the Bhoys backline solid protection having regularly broken down opposition attacks.
Celtic have taken games away from teams with McGregor’s solid work in the engine room beside Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley or Aaron Mooy. So much so that Postecoglou’s approach is captivating Hoops hero Brown. He particularly appreciates what McGregor is producing.
“For me, the way they’ve played this season has been exceptional to watch,” Brown noted, via quotes by the Glasgow Times. “Their drive, willingness and Callum McGregor pulling the strings in the middle of the park has been a delight to watch.”
