Celtic once again look like dominating the Scottish Premiership, led by their captain Scott Brown.

Celtic captain Brown has explained how his performances for his club this term have vindicated this decision to retire from playing international football with Scotland, as quoted by BT Sport.
Brown, 31, highlighted his display against Manchester City in the Champions League as evidence alone of how his decision will help him compete longer at the top level with Celtic.
The Hoops skipper spoke to BT Sport and discussed his decision to retire from international football:
“Calling it a day with Scotland is helping me with my Celtic career right now. It’s keeping me on track and pushing me to new levels. It’s giving me the little bit of extra energy and the extra bit of rest time I was definitely needing. I think my performance against Manchester City proves I was right to make that decision. A lot of people have doubted my judgement but I knew what was best for my body.”

Brown was instrumental in Celtic’s draw with City, with his non-stop running and hassling proving to be a thorn in the Premier league outfit’s side.
The former Hibernian man moved to Celtic Park in 2007, and he has gone on to make 377 appearances for the Glasgow giants.
He claims that the games he was playing for Scotland meant that he could only perform to 80 per cent of his ability when pulling on the famous green and white strip for Celtic:

“The extra games I was playing I could only manage 80 per cent of what I was capable of. I went through them all for as long as I possibly could.”
Brendan Rodgers men face Motherwell at Celtic Park after the international break, before their crucial Champions League encounter with Borussia Mönchengladbach the following Wednesday, and they will need their captain to be at his inspirational best if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the competition.
