The Hoops say they will “vigorously” contest the charges following Sunday’s Old Firm derby win in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic captain Scott Brown has been charged by the Scottish Football Association following Sunday’s Old Firm derby win over Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
The midfielder faces a hearing over “not acting in the best interest of Scottish football”, seemingly referencing the incident involving him and Alfredo Morelos in the first half.
Brown was struck by the Colombian’s arm, which resulted in a fifth red card of the season for the Gers man, some quarers suggesting that the Hoops man had provoked his opponent.
During the game, the 33-year-old retired Scotland international was also shoved in the face by Ryan Kent, while at full time he was involved in a confrontation with Andy Halliday.
In addition, both Glasgow clubs have been served notices of complaint after a mass confrontation of players at the end of the game.
