Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has just a year left on his contract with the Glasgow giants.
Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has told the Scotsman that he cannot categorically state that he will be playing in Glasgow beyond the end of his current contract.
Brown’s deal with Celtic expires at the end of next season, and no new contract has been offered to the 31-year-old.
Brown insists that he would like to stay with Celtic, but he admits that his future is far from sorted.

“I have one year left,” he said. “We haven’t spoken about extending, not yet. We will wait until after this season is out the way and see what happens. We have three important games left so there is no point in talking about contracts now.
“I would love to stay here as long as possible and finish at this club. It’s the best club I have ever been at and the best club I ever will be at. The fanbase, the football base and training base are first class.
“I’ve got a year left at Celtic, so I’ve got to enjoy the rest of this season and next and you never know where I’ll go from there or what I’ll do from there.”

In truth, it would be a major shock if Brown was not offered new terms by Celtic.
Brown has enjoyed one of his best seasons ever at Celtic Park this term, with his performances catching the eye.
The combative midfielder has been a major player for Brendan Rodgers, and the Northern Irish boss has always spoken very positively about Brown.
In total, the former Hibernian man has played 51 times for Celtic across all competitions, and has coped with the demands well.
Brown is likely to feature again for Celtic in their next match, which comes against Partick on Thursday.
