Celtic snapped up Scott Bain from Dundee on deadline day.

Celtic may have signed Scott Bain from Dundee on deadline day to boost their goalkeeping options, but that may not be the end of the situation for Brendan Rodgers.
The Bhoys saw Craig Gordon suffer an injury last month, forcing manager Rodgers to pursue a new goalkeeper to offer competition for Dorus de Vries.
Celtic eventually managed to land Bain, luring him away from his loan deal with Hibernian to pen a loan deal with the Bhoys until the end of the season.

Since then though, Sky Sports have reported that Celtic made a move for Oxford United’s Simon Eastwood on deadline day, and will re-assess their goalkeeping options at the end of the season.
Given that Gordon and De Vries are both well into their 30’s, landing the goalkeeper of the future has to be a priority for Rodgers, and Scot Bain now has the chance to prove himself as the solution.
Bain, 26, wasn’t exactly pulling up trees at Hibernian, but given that he will now spend the rest of the season backing up De Vries, he has the opportunity to prove himself to Rodgers.

Rather than dip back into the market for another goalkeeper this summer, Bain can now use the next few months to show that he is the man Celtic can rely on for the future, starting with this weekend’s Scottish Cup clash against Partick Thistle.
This weekend’s game hands Rodgers the perfect chance to give Bain this first appearance as a Celtic player, and should hand Bain the opportunity that he can earn a permanent move and prevent Rodgers from having to dip back into the transfer market this summer.
