Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to attempt to bring in Scott Arfield from Burnley, according to reports.
According to Sky Sports, Glasgow Rangers are set to attempt to sign Scott Arfield from Burnley in the summer transfer window, and his past comments about Ibrox are encouraging that a move would appeal.
Arfield has been at Burnley since 2013, and the Clarets played a pre-season match at Rangers three years ago.
The midfielder spoke at the time of his connections to Rangers, as so many of his family support the Light Blues.
And he said back in 2015: “I’m buzzing to go back and play at Ibrox. My phone went off the hook as soon as the game got announced.
“There are a lot of my mates and family members who are Rangers fans and it’s one of the pre-season highlights for me.
“It is the sort of the game you want to be playing in and I’m sure they’ll be a big crowd with Mark Warburton being the new manager and to see the new players.”
Arfield’s comments suggest that a switch to Ibrox could appeal, should Rangers offer him the chance to join.
The 29-year-old looks as if he could play a key role if he was to move to Rangers.
Arfield’s contract at Burnley expires at the end of the season, which means he could be available on a free transfer.
And the midfielder’s performances in the Premier League suggest that he could be a very exciting addition.
Arfield has made 18 league appearances for Burnley this campaign, scoring twice and claiming an assist.
