Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 7-1 win over Motherwell at Ibrox yesterday, and shared the main reason why he chose to sign for the Glasgow giants in the summer, as quoted by the Daily Record.

The 30-year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer in May this year, after his contract expired with Burnley, after rejecting plenty of other offers elsewhere, and he has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competition for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Arfield has really impressed in the heart of Rangers’ midfield this season, and he has played a major contributing role in his side’s rise in the table to just two points adrift of league leaders Celtic.

The Canadian spoke to reporters after yesterday’s thumping victory, and shared the main reason why he chose to join Rangers in the summer, as quoted by the Daily Record:

Scott Arfield of Rangers scores the opening goal during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium on November 11, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“This club is built on success and tradition and that is why I signed up for this, why the boys signed up for this, to be successful and bring the glory days back. There were 15 new faces as well as a new manager and his staff so it has taken a lot of time to keep building. But it shows what we have got, not just as players but as human beings to take this and make this club the best it has been in years. It was up to us to do that as a team and as men.”

Next up for Rangers is a clash with Livingstone in two weeks time, and Arfield will be hoping to help his side on their way to another vital three points in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
