Scott Arfield has been one of the best and most consistent players for Rangers this season, and there is no surprise that Southampton and Crystal Palace are reported to be interested in the Ibrox midfield.

According to The Scottish Sun, Premier League duo Palace and Southampton are interested in signing Arfield from Rangers in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that the Eagles and the Saints are battling each other for the £3 million signing of 30-year-old Rangers midfielder.

The Canada international – who joined Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer of 2018 – has suggested that he wants to stay at Ibrox.

The former Huddersfield Town and Burnley star has said that he is very happy at Rangers and feels settled.

Arfield told Rangers’ official website: “I think over the last two years I’ve not played enough football.

“I had a year-and-a-half at Burnley where I was in and out of the team, so this is the happiest I’ve been in years, being at this football club, wearing this badge and walking around here and being back in Glasgow.

“My family is settled and I’m fully focused on doing the right things for Rangers and to win games.”

Rangers stay

Arfield has made 26 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season, scoring 10 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

The midfielder’s aforementioned comments suggest that he is enjoying himself at Rangers, and it is hard to see the Canadian switch to Palace or Southampton in the summer transfer window.
