Steven Gerrard originally snapped him up on a pre-contract agreement and Kamara was supposed to arrive at Ibrox this summer.
But the Rangers boss paid £50,000 [Evening Telegraph] to sign him in January instead and the former Arsenal midfielder is looking like one hell of a bargain.
The 23-year-old has been an ever-present figure in a Gers side that have won five Premiership games in a row, and Sunday’s visit of Scottish Premiership champions Celtic will be the biggest test of all for the Finland international.
In the modern climate of transfer fees, £50,000 is peanuts and his Rangers team-mate Scott Arfield says that he might be the ‘steal of the century’.
He told Labdrokes’ Facebook page: “Glen for 50 grand is the biggest steal of the century. He’s come in and he’s took to life.
“In terms of coming from Dundee with no expectation on him, but in terms of how he plays the expectation arises because he’s such a good footballer, and he’s kept that going.”
Arfield is spot-on. There is no telling how much Kamara will be worth in a few years.
He is learning from one of the greatest midfielders of his generation in Gerrard and that £50,000 investment could go down as one of the club’s best-ever bit of business if he gets old on for a massive profit.
