Celtic captain Scott Brown will be hoping to guide his team to a ninth straight Scottish Premiership title this season.
Scott Allan and Tam McManus have praised the mindset of Scott Brown and the Celtic captain wanting to win at all costs when he is on the pitch.
Former Hibs star McManus shared that during his time at Easter Road, Brown used to clean his boots for him and he was the ‘worst boot boy’ he ever had.
Brown started his career at Hibs, where McManus used to play and Allan currently plys his trade. Added with that, Allan would have shared a dressing room with the Celtic legend during his time at Parkhead, and played against him recently.
Nonetheless, speaking to PLZ Soccer, both Allan and McManus shared their thoughts on coming up against Brown and the contrasting figure he is, both on the field of play and off the pitch.
“I have got a good relationship with Scott away from the park,” Allan told PLZ Soccer. “We didn’t say a word to each other the whole game, to be fair. And then after that, it was back to normal.”
McManus on Brown: “I am friendly with Broony as well, I know what Broony’s like. Off the pitch, he’s full of fun, but once he steps over the line, he’ll do anything for his team to win. He likes a bit of chat as well on the pitch.
“Broony used to clean my boots as a kid. He was the worst boot boy that I ever had in my history. I had a few clubs as well. But Broony’s a great lad.”
Allan’s Hibernian recently picked up a point against Celtic, and the midfielder will be hoping for more success when the duo meet next month in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.
Neil Lennon’s side, who will be looking to continue their domestic trophy dominance, will want to add another trophy to the history books.
But Hibs themselves, who have started the season in a poor fashion, will want to take some pressure off under-fire manager Paul Heckingbottom.
