The Rangers pair have been in poor form for Mark Warburton at Ibrox this season.

Gordon Strachan has announced his latest Scotland squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Slovakia next month – with the inclusion of two Rangers players and the continued decision to overlook an Aberdeen star causing a stir on Twitter.

Lee Wallace and Barry McKay have hardly been catching the eye during this season at Ibrox and Rangers fans have been frustrated by their performances.

Yet still both players have been included in the Scotland squad for the upcoming fixtures.

Rangers fans have been rightly disappointed with the duo’s displays this term, especially McKay, who Mark Warburton must be considering giving the chop at Rangers.

McKay’s inclusion could however be a nod to the future, with the Rangers youngster still a hot prospect for the future of the Scottish game.

Wallace on the other hand is a shock. The Rangers captain is one of three left-backs in the squad and many would suggest he is a weaker option than Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie – who has again been overlooked.

It is not only neutral Scotland fans, but even Rangers fans, who believe Strachan has made a mistake picking the pair.
