Scotland fans have criticised West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass, after he announced his international retirement yesterday.
Snodgrass has decided to focus on his West Ham career, after another disappointing international break with his country.
The West Ham winger, who is on a £40,000-a-week contract at the London Stadium (Spotrac), started for Scotland in their 4-0 defeat to Russia, and then did not feature in Steve Clarke’s side victory over San Marino.
Snodgrass went on to announce his retirement from playing for his country yesterday.
But Scotland fans haven’t exactly lavished praise on the West Ham man following the news.
Snodgrass retires after making 28 appearances for his country and scoring seven times.
The 32-year-old will now be able to concentrate on matters at West Ham, as he looks to break back into Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Pellegrini has generally overlooked Snodgrass so far this term, with the experienced midfielder only playing a covering role for the Hammers.
