Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders has been speaking about the club’s recent training sessions.
Lijnders has been giving an account of the Reds’ recent camp on a regular basis, and he says that one of the star performers on Wednesday was 19-year-old Jake Cain.
Indeed, Lijnders says that Cain scored a remarkable seven goals during the session, including a few brilliant strikes.
What’s been said?
Lijnders says that Wednesday’s session was a good one, and that Cain was a standout performer.
“We had a good, hard session on Wednesday morning. The highlight was the pressing of the yellow team. Leighton also played a brilliant through ball to Diogo, sending him one-on-one. Vitor also took a small group for some extra work and Jake Cain scored seven goals, including some worldies.” Lijnders said.

Breakout season ahead?
Cain seems to have been impressing in training, and you have to wonder whether or not the teenager has a big season ahead of him.
We’ve seen that Jurgen Klopp is willing to hand out chances to talented young players if they’re good enough to make an impact in the first-team, and with Cain lighting up training he could play his way into the manager’s thoughts.
Cain is yet to make his league debut for the Reds, but if he carries on like this, it may not be long before he gets his first taste of Premier League football for the Anfield outfit.
