Scottie Scheffler spends his Sundays like millions of other American sports fans – glued to the NFL.

The world number one golfer said football is the sport he enjoys most when he’s not competing, and that he rarely misses a weekend of games.

He loves switching on RedZone, following the action, and catching every big moment from across the league.

That mix of excitement and unpredictability keeps Scheffler coming back week after week.

When asked which NFL players grab his attention most, Scheffler didn’t hesitate.

He pointed to two of the league’s biggest names – Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes – as the athletes he loves to watch.

Scheffler praised their ability to make extraordinary plays look routine and said there’s always a sense that something special might happen when they’re on the field.

“Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes; I think you always love seeing guys do great things,” he told Golf Channel.

“Right now, I feel like there’s so much talent in the NFL that in any given game, you’re going to see something tremendous, and it’s a lot of fun to watch.”

That admiration came across as pure fandom, the same kind any viewer feels watching the best perform under pressure.

Football is Scottie Scheffler’s go-to escape from golf

Even as he follows stars from around the league, Scheffler remains loyal to his Dallas Cowboys.

He admitted their struggles make them tough to watch at times, but joked that he can never stay away for long.

“I love the NFL. I think the NFL is the most fun to watch. One of my favorite things is being able to turn the TV on on Sunday, watch RedZone, and catch up on all the games,” Scheffler said.

“As for players, I love my Cowboys. It’s been a tough season so far, but I can’t not watch the Cowboys. They’re like a drug to me, I always go back.

Scheffler’s enthusiasm captures what makes football so magnetic: talent, drama, and the constant sense that something incredible could happen on any play.
