Former player and current pundit Matt Le Tissier has taken on the challenge of naming a comined Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City XI ahead of the intriguing encounter this weekend, Sky Sports report.

Spurs and City are currently the Premier League’s top two, and they are the only two teams in the league who have yet to taste defeat with Spurs winning four and drawing two while City have a 100% winning record.

Both have performed impressively thus far, and many believe the two clubs boast a number of the Premier League’s better players in their respective positions.

But who would make a combined Spurs-City XI with so many talented players to choose from? Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier has given it a go, with the graphic below showing the side he chose.

The first key absentee noticeable from the team is City defender Vincent Kompany, with Le Tissier instead opting for England international John Stones following his good start to the season.

Kompany is a quality player without doubt, yet his lack of football due to injury problems has been a real setback and begs the question as to whether he will ever reach his best level again.

Tottenham dominate the defensive positions with four of the back five going in their favour, yet going forward it is a different story and England duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane both miss out.

With just one position upfront in Le Tissier’s 4-2-3-1 formation, the former Southampton hero has opted for City’s Sergio Aguero who currently tops the scoring charts with five goals to his name.

It’s hard to argue with the selection of trio Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva considering their excellent form, yet Son Heung-Min has arguably been just as impressive if not more.

The South Korea international has four goals in three games for Spurs this season, while his average of 4.7 shots, 3.3 key passes and 4.7 take-ons per match (Whoscored) rivals any other player in the league.
