The German youngster was linked with a big money move to Spurs in the summer.
Schalke 04 attacker Max Meyer has been commenting on the interest in his signature from Tottenham Hotspur this summer and his future in Gelsenkirchen with SportBild this week.
Spurs found themselves linked with plenty of names this summer as Mauricio Pochettino aims to take the side the one step further they need to become title challengers.

It was reported by Bild in Germany that Spurs were ready to splash out £38 million on young playmaker Meyer this summer.
Nothing ever occurred but, speaking to SportBild, Meyer admitted he was aware of Tottenham’s interest but is happy at his current club:

“I know that interest was there and was asked at the club. But Schalke immediately put a stop to it. This was the end of the matter.
“Of course, I have dealt with the question. But I also know what I have to do with Schalke, and I like to play for this club.
“If we can continue to work calmly, if the team is held together, then I could be here in the coming years.”
Meyer has been with Schalke since the age of 14 and clearly loves the club.

Any deal from Tottenham would seem unlikely at present anyway, as Meyer has suffered a dip in form at the start of the new season.
That said, the German international is just 21-years-old and is expected to become a future European star.
Spurs, who sent Algerian international Nabil Bentaleb on loan to Schalke this summer, will be right to keep tabs on the player going forward.
