Tim Howard commented on the extremely daunting set of matches that awaits Manchester United in the next month or so.

Speaking on NBC Sports, Howard admitted he struggled to see where his former side’s next victory would come from.

United are currently experiencing a torrid time of things and their task is only going to get tougher.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have won just twice in their last seven fixtures across all competitions.

Both were narrow 2-1 victories over Villarreal and West Ham United, neither leaving much to be desired.

Defeats to Aston Villa, Young Boys, West Ham and a draw with Everton have left Solskjaer’s managerial position in a perilous one, not for the first time.

Their latest humbling came at the hands of Leicester City in the Premier League.

United lost 4-2 at the King Power on Saturday, a result which saw them drop out of the top four.

Highway to Hell for the Red Devils

That fixture against the Foxes kick-started a discouraging sequence of games.

Up next, a Champions League away trip to unpredictable Atalanta, before Old Trafford hosts high-flying Liverpool in the league.

Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal also await in the distance.

“(Aston) Villa, Everton, Leicester; those haven’t been good,” said Howard, who played for United between 2003 and 2007.

“Their next run of fixtures, it’s scary. We are in scary season now, this is scary.

“Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, this is all Premier League.

“They’ll get a result at Watford, but where does the next result come from with the way they’ve been dropping points?

“This is so incredibly difficult for this Manchester United team.

“We want to give Solskjaer the season because now he has all the tools. But you only get that if results start to creep in the right direction.

“If they don’t and you look at this run of fixtures, yes, some questions are going to be asked, certainly by the board.”

Wheels are spinning for Ole

Luckily for Solskjaer, his record in the perceived ‘bigger occasions’ is actually pretty good.

Last season, he beat Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs and drew with Chelsea twice.

On the flip side, Tottenham trounced the Red Devils 6-1, Liverpool scored four past them, even Arsenal managed a 1-0 victory.

United fans are never sure which set of players will turn up to every contest.

They have the individuals to destroy any opponent.

Sadly, that’s all they are at the minute; a group of talented personalities rather than a co-existing and efficient unit.
