West Ham United supporters heaped praise on Mohamed Salah after his stunning brace for Liverpool during their 3-1 defeat to the champions on Sunday.
Even though Liverpool were without Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino started from the bench, it was Salah who was the difference-maker and it was a performance West Ham fans couldn’t help but applaud.
Salah’s second goal of the night was one of the goals of the season and, even though it was a hard watch, West Ham fans waxed-lyrical about the £34 million man’s [BBC Sport] effort and performance on the night.
Some Hammers supporters pointed out that Liverpool have a number of high-quality and big-money signings on their hands, so they should take this defeat as a pinch of salt.
David Moyes’ side went into this game knowing that a win would take them back into the Champions League places, but they remain in fifth place – still in a pretty healthy position.
A number of weeks ago, not only Salah, but Liverpool’s entire team were struggling to hit a barn door, so they are unlucky in the sense that they came across Salah at his very best last night.
Nonetheless, for Salah, he is now the top marksman in the league with 15 strikes to his name and he will more than likely end up taking that Golden Boot crown at the end of the campaign.
