Wolves’ club captain Conor Coady believes his team showed their fantastic fighting spirit in their 1-1 draw at Arsenal on Sunday.

The former Liverpool defender and current Wolves captain was sensational at the Emirates, continuing in the back three alongside Ryan Bennett and Willy Boly.
Wolves had been struggling in recent weeks after three defeats on the trot and Premier League fans were waiting to see if that was just a blip or if their early-season promise was just a flash in the pan.
Wolves took the first step towards proving it wasn’t by almost taking all three points from the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal dominated possession while Wolves had the better chances and almost battled The Gunners off the park.
Speaking to the official Wolves club site, Coady said: “We gave absolutely everything, we’ve left everything out there.
“To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. We came here with an objective to win, to stop the rut. We’ve been beaten three times and we didn’t want to carry that on.
“We fight for this football club every single day. Every player in there will tell you the same thing, we love playing for this football club and we fight for it, so it doesn’t matter where we are playing, we will always do that.”
The confidence and self-belief that Nuno Espirito Santo has instilled in this Wolves team is nothing short of extraordinary. Nuno arrived at the beginning of last season and brought with him a seemingly-unquenchable thirst for success. He had just led FC Porto to second place in the Portuguese Primera Liga, with only two league defeats in the whole season.
Coady spoke about what Nuno had discussed with the squad in the build-up to the Arsenal game.
“The gaffer spoke to us at great length this week in terms of stopping the rot. It was one where we came here with the mentality to win like we do with every game, I think you have seen that with the counter-attacking that we were doing as well,” said Coady.
Stopping the rot is exactly what Wolves did. They face Huddersfield after the international break and will be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
