Brendan Rodgers feels his Celtic team have raised their performance-levels greatly in recent weeks.
Brendan Rodgers was on a confidence-building mission today as his side prepare to welcome Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to Glasgow for Thursday’s encounter.
Celtic are up against it on Thursday night, needing to beat RB Leipzig by at least three goals to go ahead of them into second in the group. The German side won the reverse fixture 2-0 in late October, so Rodgers and his team know they have a massive challenge ahead of them.
Domestically, the results have been positive with the Bhoys enjoying seven wins on the trot in home competitions – a streak that started back in September. Since their defeat in Germany, Celtic have played three games, won them all, scored 13 goals and conceded none.
There should be no shortage of confidence among the Celtic ranks, with players like Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard, in particular, beginning to find the net on a regular basis.
The concern is that Celtic need everyone to be on form come Thursday night. Of course, their cause will certainly be helped by the legendary Celtic Park home support.
