The Gunners’ faithful would love to see this Spaniard given a shot next season.
Birmingham City beat second-placed Hull City 1-0 at St Andrews on Thursday night to keep pace with Sheffield Wednesday in the hunt for a Championship playoff spot.
In doing so, Gary Rowett’s side moved back to within a point of the Owls, who currently occupy the fourth and final playoff position.
How were the points won? Two words: Jon Toral.
The Spanish midfielder, 21, has made quite an impression since joining the Blues on a season-long loan from Premier League side Arsenal, netting his seventh Championship goal of the campaign tonight.
The Gunners’ fans have had a hard time of it lately, what with suffering back-to-back defeats against Manchester United and Swansea City to derail their title bid and all, but can Toral inspire them next season?
A lot of their supporters seem to think so.

He arrived in North London from Barcelona in 2011, along with compatriot Hector Bellerin who has been the Gunners’ first-choice right-back for over 12 months now.
