Takumi Minamino has issued a heartfelt goodbye to Liverpool supporters on Instagram.

The Japan international has left Liverpool after two-and-a-half years on Merseyside.

Minamino has left the Reds on a permanent basis to join Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Here’s how the player reacted to the departure on Instagram:

According to The Independent, Liverpool will pocket over £15 million for the transfer.

And having signed him for a little over £7.2 million, that means the Premier League outfit have doubled their money on someone who – let’s be honest – was a squad player under Jurgen Klopp.

Last season, the former Salzburg winger only managed 176 minutes of Premier League football – less than two full matches – across 11 appearances.

That right there illustrates that Minamino was never a massive player at Liverpool, so to make a 100 percent profit is very tidy business, it has to be said.

Despite not being a major player in the Premier League, he was in the cup competitions.

He scored seven FA Cup and League Cup goals last season and given that Liverpool won both competitions, he absolutely did his bit in helping Klopp’s side to glory during the 2021-22 campaign, even if he didn’t play either final against Chelsea.
